Indirect bonding of internal braces

The lingual application in the front tooth area is particularly well-suited for adult patients, as the inner braces are nearly invisible. The attachment of inner braces (lingual technique) in our specialist dental practice for orthodontics in Munich is done through indirect bonding. Here, the brackets are placed on a 3D model prepared in advance based on the patient's dental impression (plaster model). The placement of brackets in the mouth is then facilitated by using a transfer tray, enabling precise positioning and bonding of the brackets in one step. Indirect bonding offers many advantages, including a shorter treatment time for the patient. The patient doesn't need to lie with their mouth open for an extended period on the dental chair, leading to a more comfortable application of the fixed braces. Furthermore, the brackets can be placed even more accurately since there are no patient movements on the chair during indirect bonding. The more precise the bracket placement, the more targeted the subsequent tooth movements can be, thus further reducing the overall orthodontic treatment time. The individually shaped brackets made from high-quality alloys are permanently attached to the inner surface of the teeth with a special adhesive in the case of lingual braces. Here, the brackets are adjusted to the tooth surface by our orthodontist in Munich, Dr. Sebastian Krause, so that they are barely noticeable to the patient.

Internal vs. external braces

External Braces

External fixed braces have brackets that are attached to the outside of the teeth. These brackets are applied by your orthodontist, Dr. Sebastian Krause, in Munich and cannot be removed by the patient. Additionally, the tension of the archwires is adjusted at regular intervals in your specialist dental practice for orthodontics in Munich.

Internal Braces (Lingual Technique)

Internal fixed braces have brackets that are attached to the inner surface of the teeth, where the archwire ultimately runs. This type of orthodontic appliance is not visible from the outside, which is why it is becoming increasingly popular, especially in adulthood, as it allows for discreet orthodontic treatment.
