Indirect bonding of fixed braces

When attaching a fixed braces in our specialist dental practice for orthodontics in Munich, there are two options. Either each bracket is individually placed and bonded in the patient's mouth (direct bonding), or the brackets are placed on a 3D model prepared in advance based on the patient's dental impression (plaster model). The placement of brackets in the mouth is facilitated by using a transfer tray, enabling precise positioning and bonding of the brackets in one step. Indirect bonding offers many advantages, including a shorter treatment time for the patient. The patient doesn't need to lie with their mouth open for an extended period on the dental chair, leading to a more comfortable application of the fixed braces. Furthermore, the brackets can be placed even more accurately since there are no patient movements on the chair during indirect bonding. The more precise the bracket placement, the more targeted the subsequent tooth movements can be, thus further reducing the overall orthodontic treatment time.
